Halloween Sun....through the clouds.
Growing sunspot AR12443 has a 'beta-gamma-delta' magnetic field that harbors energy for X-class solar flares

Wednesday 28 October 2015

Waited for the haze to clear but ended up with the best of today taken through a patch of not so dense cloud.
Not one of these sunspots poses a threat for strong flares. Activity still very low.

Tuesday 27 October 2015

Another gap hunting day with the low winter Sun.
Not one of these sunspots poses a threat for strong flares. Solar activity remains very low.
Spot count 72

Monday 26 October 2015

Two days on the trot with gaps, not very big ones, and high winds and rain in between, but a gap.
Not one of these sunspots poses a threat for strong flares. Solar activity is very low.

Sunday 25 October 2015

They forecast Sun today, you could just about see it thought the heavy haze which lasted all day.
Not one of these sunspots poses a threat for strong flares. Solar activity is low.

Tuesday 20 October 2015

One small gap is all we get in day and days and day which clouded over again soon after the image was taken.
Sunspot AR12436 has a 'beta-gamma' magnetic field that harbors energy for M-class solar flares.
Spot count 94

Wednesday 14 October 2015

Waited for a gap, found one then packed up quick as high winds and HAIL.....
None of these sunspots poses a threat for strong flares. Solar activity remains low

Tuesday 13 October 2015

Early image as the wind is building up and feels like a storm is on the way, and a new AR appears just in time for it to rotate off the visible side in a day or two...
None of these sunspots poses a threat for strong flares. Solar activity remains low.

Monday 12 October 2015

More blue sky today than clouds, but the seeing was not the best, but nice to see more AR this week.
None of these sunspots poses a threat for strong flares, activity is low.
Spot count 36

Sunday 11 October 2015

Not as heavy cloud today as you can actually see the AR today.
Neither of these sunspots poses a threat for strong solar flares.

Saturday 10 October 2015

Had a few goes and could just make out the one remaining spot visually which with artistic licence I labelled on the image...... first time I have had to mask the Sun so the fill would work to make the background black and not hazy white.....  waited 6 hours so had to get something from today...
There is only one sunspot on the Earth-facing side of the sun. AR12430 has a simple magnetic field that poses no threat for strong flares.

Friday 9 October 2015

Grabbed the only even patch in a cloudy sky.  Wonder if these AR will grow?
Neither of these small sunspots poses a threat for strong flares. Solar activity is low.
Spot count 24

Thursday 8 October 2015

After a day of full cloud and rain, it looks like it has washed all the spots away.
The Earth-facing side of the sun is almost blank. No sunspots means no flares.
Spot count 24

Tuesday 6 October 2015

Looking a bit blank after waiting all day for a decent image.
Sunspot AR12427 has a simple magnetic field that poses no threat for strong solar flares.
Spot count 15

Monday 5 October 2015

Autumn has arrived so after the mist and fog lifted it revealed clouds, this was the best gap all day before the high winds and rain.
The magnetic field of sunspot AR12427 is decaying and no longer poses a threat for strong solar flares
Spot count 18

Sunday 4 October 2015

Early image as not sure how long the clear sky will last, as seeing is going hazy already.
Sunspot AR12427 has a 'beta-gamma' magnetic field that harbors energy for M-class solar flares.
Spot count 47

Saturday 3 October 2015

Fully clouded out all day at the International Astronomy Show but caught a hazy late gap when I got home.
Sunspot AR12422 is rotating onto the far side of the sun where it will no longer pose a threat for Earth-directed flares.
